When the hot water runs cold before school, a shower starts leaking into the wall or the toilet backs up on a Sunday night, you want a plumber who answers and turns up. Smart Choice Plumbing is a local, family-run business working as a plumber in Glen Alpine, from planned upgrades to urgent call-outs.
We handle hot water, gas fitting, leaks, blocked drains and renovation plumbing for Glen Alpine homes. Before any work starts, we tell you what is wrong and what it will take to fix, and we finish with a tidy site.
Most calls we take in Glen Alpine fall into one of the groups below.
No hot water, a leaking cylinder or water that runs warm then cold usually points to a failed element, thermostat, gas control or relief valve. We test the unit first and tell you whether a repair is worth doing. When it is time to replace, we supply and fit gas, electric and heat pump hot water systems, mostly Rheem and Rinnai, sized to the household.
Our gas fitting work covers new cooktops and ovens, gas heater bayonets, line extensions for an outdoor kitchen and tracing a gas smell. Every new connection is pressure tested before the appliance goes into use.
We clear blocked drains in Glen Alpine with a high-pressure jet blaster, then run a CCTV camera through the line to show what caused the blockage. If the camera finds a broken pipe, we quote the blocked sewer repair, stormwater repair or pipe relining it needs.
A dripping mixer, a damp wall behind the shower or a cistern that never stops filling wastes water and money. Shower repairs and toilet repairs are usually finished in a single visit, with worn cartridges, washers and valves replaced on the spot.
Bathroom renovations: we manage the renovation plumbing from strip-out to fit-off, with Caroma as our preferred fixture brand.
Kitchen renovations: sinks, dishwashers, fridge water lines and filtered taps plumbed to suit the new layout.
Water filtration: under-sink filters for drinking water, or a whole-home system on the main supply.
Commercial plumbing: repairs, maintenance and fit-outs for local shops, offices and clinics.
Smart Choice Plumbing provides round-the-clock emergency plumbing in Glen Alpine, including weekends and public holidays. Burst pipes, a hot water unit flooding the laundry, a gas smell or sewage coming up through a floor waste all need attention straight away.
When you call, we tell you honestly when we can get there. While we are on the way, we talk you through shutting off the water at the meter, or the gas at the meter or bottle. Sewage overflowing inside the house is treated as an emergency blocked drain, whatever the hour.
Water where it should not be?
Glen Alpine homeowners choose Smart Choice Plumbing because we pick up the phone, explain the problem plainly and fix it properly the first time.
Glen Alpine was built from the mid-1980s around the Campbelltown Golf Course. According to the Dictionary of Sydney, it takes its name from the 1820s homestead of the Reverend Thomas Reddall, Campbelltown’s first Anglican clergyman.
It is a suburb of large, owner-occupied houses. The ABS 2021 Census QuickStats for Glen Alpine counted 4,429 residents, with 98.3% of dwellings having separate houses, an average of 4.3 bedrooms and about nine in ten homes owned outright or with a mortgage.
For plumbing, that means homes with more than one bathroom and plenty of people needing hot water at once. In homes like these, the common jobs are a hot water system that keeps up with the household, renovation plumbing for a bathroom or ensuite, and water filtration. We size every hot water system to the number of bathrooms and people in the house, so the last shower of the morning is still hot.
Smart Choice Plumbing covers Glen Alpine and nearby Ambarvale, Rosemeadow, Mount Annan and Campbelltown.
Smart Choice Plumbing quotes every plumbing job in Glen Alpine before the work starts. A small repair can often be priced over the phone once you describe the fault. Larger work, such as a new hot water system, a drain repair or renovation plumbing, is quoted after we have seen it.
These are the things that move a quote:
You agree to the price before we start.
A dripping tap or a slow drain is easy to ignore until it becomes a stained ceiling or a flooded laundry. Smart Choice Plumbing does the job once and does it right, with no shortcuts and no mess.
Yes. Smart Choice Plumbing answers calls 24/7, including weekends and public holidays. When you ring, we give you an honest arrival time based on the jobs already booked.
We quote each job once we know what it involves. Access, parts and the amount of work set the price, and we confirm it with you before we start.
It depends on how many people shower at the same time, how many bathrooms you have and whether the house has a gas connection. We work through those questions with you, then recommend a gas, electric or heat pump unit.
Gas appliances in NSW must be connected by a licensed gas fitter. Smart Choice Plumbing connects cooktops, ovens and heaters and tests the line before the appliance is used.
Often, yes. A drip from the shower head or mixer is usually a worn cartridge or washer that we replace in one visit. If water is getting behind the tiles, we find where it is coming from before suggesting any tiling work.
