Jia wanted a bathroom that worked harder than the one she had. The original layout split a small bathroom and a separate toilet across two rooms, which wasted space and made things awkward for her elderly father. The brief was to modernise the space, improve the layout and make the bathroom safer and more comfortable for him to use day to day. Jia also wanted a large double vanity, a toilet and a dedicated shower area, finished with floor-to-ceiling tiling for a clean, modern look. She came to us because she wanted one bathroom renovation plumber managing the whole project rather than juggling separate trades herself.
We completely stripped out the existing bathroom and separate toilet, then opened up the area to create the new L-shaped bathroom layout.
With the space cleared, we set out the new layout and completed the required plumbing and drainage alterations to suit the new bathroom.
We coordinated the carpentry, electrical work, sheeting and waterproofing, making sure each stage was completed in the right order before moving on.
Once the preparation work was complete, we installed the floor-to-ceiling tiles to create a clean, modern finish throughout the bathroom.
We installed the double vanity, toilet, shower fixtures and plumbing fittings, followed by the shower screen, silicone and final fit-off.
The complete bathroom renovation was managed from demolition through to handover, giving Jia one point of contact throughout the project.
The main challenge was combining two separate rooms into one functional bathroom while staying inside the existing footprint and working with existing services. The new layout had to comfortably fit a 1200 mm double vanity, a toilet and a dedicated shower area without the room feeling cramped. Careful planning and tight coordination between trades let us make the most of the available space and keep the plumbing, electrical, waterproofing, tiling and fixtures all working with the new layout rather than against it.
